Where do we find instructions for adding images? I’m not a techie…I just need something that I can get images onto my blog with… runnung 2.8.6
In the installation instructions, you say to upload images into the “VSslideshow” folder. THERE IS NOT ONE. I tried uploading to the gallery folder and had default puppies scrolling on the side of my site.
Where should I upload my jpgs?
To update the images goto “gallery” folder and take the XML file(widget.xml) in that you can update the image path.
You can see the gallery folder in below mentioned path in your server.
wp-content/plugins/vertical-scroll-slideshow-gallery-v2/
This plugin is pretty amazing. It would be more perfect it you could add the option to have a text written at the bottom of each image.
Similar to this – http://i45.tinypic.com/117bacl.png
Sorry, I’m still confused about how to put my own images into the slideshow. The puppies are cute, but they don’t fit with my theme. I went to the “gallery”, grabbed the XML, but what do I do with it? Is there a simple “upload photo here” spot? I’m not familiar with codex at all.
Mr. April
please check your mail. i have sent detailed information o you in email.
Hi,
Could you send a detailed guide on how to upload the picts for slideshow too?
My pictures just dont appear!
You upload your images into “http://tinypic.com/” ( or any other) this website, after uploaded it will give full URL of the uploaded image, use that image URL in the XML file to create gallery.
I am also having difficulty with images. I have amended the widget.xml file with the appropriate path, which was the gallery folder where the widget file is located. I dumped all my jpgs into there, hoping it would find them. Do I need to use html code to identify each jpg? If so, where can I get help with the syntax?
I get this error when activating this plugin in wordpress:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in /home/content/c/i/t/cityofmaXXXXX/html/URLNAME/wp-content/plugins/vertical-scroll-slideshow-gallery-v2/vertical-scroll-slideshow-gallery-v2.php on line 36.
Any idea what is wrong or how to fix this error?
Where is the Galley folder? I’m looking all around in the back end, in the plugin area, widget area, and image library, I read the FAQs. I can’t find it, but i really don’t know what I’m doing either, as I’m only 2 weeks in to this project.
Note: I’m using a laptop (with out) a hard drive/ internet only. Not sure if it’s a file folder in my pc?
Ok I guess I was over thinking it. The “gallery” is right there within the VS2 widget area.
But can someone email a really dumbed down version of the directions for getting the pics from my wp library to the V2 galley? I’ve never done more than check email before building my site here. many thanks
My own images are not showing up in Firefox. I see them in IE.
Testing the lugin, I added 3 png’s and left one puppy, and I get 3 blanks and 1 puppy.
Just wandering if the sidebar slideshow can display more than four images. Seems to be stuck on a four cycle no matter how many I add to it.
Is it possible to use the vertical slideshow in the main section of the page (not side bars) and have multiple pages with vertical slideshow, but each page has its own source of images.
BTW, your plugins are great, easy to use, and work. Great job!
Hi there,
I cannot find the ‘gallery tab’. I’ve uploaded all the pictures I want in the gallery in my media file but can’t get any further on this. I went to tinypic.com but it only allows one pic at a time and I don’t even know where the XML file is. I really don’t get it.
I tried editing the file by ftp – DON’T DO THAT. The easy way is:
- Go to Dashboard
-Go to Plug-Ins and find Vertical Gallery
-Click on the edit tab, which takes you to the files
-Look on the far right hand side and you will see the xml file
-Click on that
-Look at the code that has the link to a photo
-Replace that code with the URL for your photo
-Hope this helps
Great plugin
