If the user thought this page link is useful to their friend, he can send the page link via this plug-in..

  1. Simple.
  2. Admin can choose which page this plugin should display.
  3. Easy style-override.
  4. Widgets, so you can add pretty much anything.
  5. Easy installation.
  6. Ajax, so no page refresh.
  7. Captcha to avoid spam.

Installation Instruction

  • Unpack the *.zip file and extract the /Send-link-to-friend/ folder.
  • Drop the ‘Send-link-to-friend’ folder into your ‘wp-content/plugins’ folder.
  • In word press administration panels, click on plug-in from the menu tab.
  • You should see your new ‘Send link to friend’ plug-in listed under Inactive plug-in tab.
  • To turn the word presses plug-in on, click activate.
  • Go to widget link under Appearance tab, Drag & drop ‘Send link to friend’ widget to your desired location in the active sidebar.
  • Click on the configure button (small down triangle) for the ‘Send link to friend’ widget and here you can customize all the widget front end styles.

If you did update from version 2.0 to version 3.0, cleck your cache and check the update.

To change the Captcha color scheme. 1. Take captcha.php file.
2. Go to line 26,27,28 to change the Captcha color scheme.

version 2.0
Now 2 way to use.
1. Drag and drop the widget to your sidebar.
2. copy and paste the given code to the desired location.

Great plug

Is there any way or code for using this anywhere else then the sidebar? – i want to use it not as a widget but as pop-up in my wp-site.

Is there a way to be notified when the page or post has been recommended? I use one on my regular website (not the WP blog) which notifies me by email when someone recommends the page and this is really a great thing to have. If you could add it this would be really helpful. Thanks.

Hi Gopi,

Great plug-in. Just one question, is there any way of changing the from address displayed in the email? At the moment it says ‘Wordpress’ in the inbox.

Nice plugin! Small problem. It doesn’t send mail. It displays an error box saying “There was a problem with the request.” What have I done wrong?

Hi! I installed the plugin and activated it, and I see the form but the CAPTCHA image is not showing up. I looked in the code and the tag is there, but no image is displayed. What could be going wrong here?

Hm. Now it seems it works on this page (after refresh and submiting again). On my solution, the problem is $_SESSION['sendlinktofriend_code'] variable (it is NULL @ send-mail.php).
How to fix it?

As to the CAPTCHA problem I found it requires gd and freetype libriaries enabled php so if it doesn’t work check this first.

Plugin is insecure. You need to check the to_email address against a preg_replace to avoid email injection headers allowing scripts to bcc or cc an entire list of people.
